Heart/Brain Coherence

So many things are being discovered about the human body.  I have learned so much following Gregg Braden on GAIA in regards to new discoveries.

There are around 40,000 sensory neurites, brain like cells in our hearts.  Scientist call it “the little brain in the heart”.  Our heart learns, thinks and feels independently of the cells in our brain.

Many heart transplant recipients will begin to assume different characteristics and personalities after the transplant.  A great example is of a successful heart transplant recipient.  This was an 8 year old girl who received the heart of a 10 year old girl.  The 8 year old girl had reoccurring nightmares after the transplant.  The heart surgeon recognized that there was something very different about this young girls dream and suggested she see a psychiatrist.  The psychiatrist was aware that this was more than a dream it was a memory.  The psychiatrist brought in a forensic artist to draw the images from the young girls dream.  The ten year old girl’s life had been taken by a man.  The eight year old heart recipient saw in detail what had happened and even a very specific phrase used by the man prior to the ten year old passing.  The heart recipient gave the artist an accurate description and the words that were used by the man.  Because of this “memory” from the heart, an arrest was made and the man even used the phrase during the arrest that was provided by the 8 year old recipient.  Other transplant recipients will pick up food cravings from the previous individual.

The heart and brain share a common neuro network.  There is direct access to the subconsciousness.

From the Mothers womb until we are around 6 years old we absorb patterns, personalities and behaviors from our care givers.  During this time our brains can not filter what we are experiencing.  We absorb it like a sponge,

When you harmonize the heart and brain, our bodies recognize it as healing/love.  It will trigger  biochemical reactions (anti-aging, immune, cardiovascular).  It takes about 72 hours for new networks to grow.  When we make the connection the brain releases chemistry in our bodies that rejuvenates healing and hormone balance.

When your heart is speaking to you, it speaks briefly, concise and usually in a phrase or single sentence.  Rarely will your heart give you a story.  If you receive a story that is likely the ego.  Listen to your heart.

There are several states that your brain functions in…

Delta (asleep), Theta (drowsy), Alpha (relaxed/meditation), Beta (engaged in daily activity) and Gamma (increased focus, intuition, fast processing/storage and retrieval)

The Gamma state is also a natural anti depressant.  When in the gamma state it will awaken the sensory perception.  You will smell scents stronger, sensations like music feels differently, you don’t just hear sound you FEEL it differently.

To achieve heart/brain coherence there are 3 steps

  1. Shift your awareness from your mind to you heart.  Gently touch your heart center on your body.
  2. Slow your breathe to 5 seconds in and 5 seconds out
  3. “FEEL” the feeling of gratitude, appreciation, care or compassion for anyone or anything.

Now you are setting up communication between the heart and brain.  3 minutes of this will set this into motion.  A cascade of events within your body will occur for up to 6 hours.  All of the health benefits will be in motion.

Incorporate this into your daily routine regardless what time of day.

You have the potential to improve your health and overall well being!  When you feel alive and happy, we add so much to the world around us.

Add to the ripple, love yourself.
